Port numbers used in the ANGEL APPLICATION

The ANGEL APPLICATION uses tcp port 6221 to serve immutable content to the network. This port number must be opened in your firewall and potentially setup in your router using port forwarding. The component of the ANGEL APPLICATION serving content on this port using the WebDAV protocol is called 'provider'.

This number 6221 was chosen based on the abbreviation M∞, a unicode string whose hexadecimal representation is: U+006D U+221.

Another component of the ANGEL APPLICATION, namely the 'presenter', uses port 6222 on the localhost interface for providing editing capabilities using the WebDAV protocol.
